In India, a study by medical specialists revealed that about 10 percent apparently healthy Indian Army personnel have been found to have symptoms of chronic kidney disorder and over 37 percent troopers have abdominal obesity.
The researchers screened and examined 1,920 personnel, out of which 731 were from the armed forces. The screening included a structured questionnaire and collection of anthropometric data besides a series of laboratory tests.
